“After 52 years in her home in N.Y. State, my mother made the decision to move to Austin to be near me. I wish we had Kim and her team on THAT end! Anyway, once my mom actually got a moving truck loaded and had her things delivered to her new apt. in Austin, it was immediately apparent she had brought faaaar too much "stuff"! I had to rent her a garage, that was filled to the brim as well as her apt. It was overwhelming....to me!! After a couple of days of trying to get through some boxes with little success, I called Kim at Downsize My Home. She immediately met me at my mom's place and assessed the situation. She talked with my mom and developed an action plan. She sent a couple members of her team over to work with my mom, and they helped unpack boxes, hang pictures and put away some of her things, all while my mother was able to sit back and relax. “Kim and her team were instrumental in making my Dad's move from Austin to Dallas a positive one.  As everyone says, this can be a major disruptive event, sometimes even a traumatic one.  The team's knowledge of the process, the step by step design of the process, and the execution of those steps were all awesome.

The team was very cheerful and pleasant to be around.  They helped my father "decide" to leave some things behind as he moved from a 4,000 sq ft house to a two-bedroom apartment.

An example of the detailed service provided is that Kim got the layout of Dad's apartment along with dimensions, worked out sketches of where to place the furniture, and then reviewed it with Dad.  Kim went above and beyond and found a company who would unpack and set Dad up in Dallas.  When Dad arrived at the apartment, it looked like he was already living there.

Kim steps in at the opportune moment to lead you personally &  strongly along with her well trained crew she has selected as the perfect match of personalities & skills for your project. I needed to move my 83 year old female cousin that had lived independently for over 30 years.  She was overwhelmed by the death of her only son from cancer only three months prior leaving my cousin with no immediate family & suffering from dementia that had just been diagnosed. She thought she was in charge. I thought I needed to be but, thankfully, Kim Stanley & her stalwart band of women warriors & packers-extraordinaire managed to please my cousin.


They separated the things she could not live without from the remainder packed for storage.  Got all items moved to the correct space, prepared an inventory, marked everything clearly, & the greatest blessing of all is that when my cousin walked into her new apartment the next morning, every item was in its
place,  beautifully arranged with nothing left to unpack, all the trash gone. My cousin was overjoyed that “the decorator” had done such an amazing job!  Her old apartment was totally cleaned out & every bump in our path disappeared efficiently & cheerfully.  I continue to work with Downsize My Home. I rely on them as my cousin is healing from  back surgery after a fall necessitating a move to a new home.
